Iranian filmmaker Farnoush Samadi to judge at Tirana filmfest

Iranian female cineaste Farnoush Samadi is to judge at the 2020 Tirana Int’l filmfest in Albania.

Iranian female filmmaker Farnoush Samadi has been selected to judge at the 2020 edition of the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania.

Samadi, director of the acclaimed Iranian short ‘Gaze’, will sit on the jury of the short film competition at the Albanian event.

She was also on the jury panel of the same event in 2018.

Born in 1983, Samadi is a young Iranian short film director who has so far made a number of successful works such as ‘The Silence’, 'Gaze', ‘Disappearance’ and ‘More than Two Hours’.

The TIFF is an Oscar-qualifying event and the winner of the Best Short Award will be introduced to the Academy Awards.

Established in 2003, the TIFF is one of the most significant film festivals in the Balkans. The event brings together different cultures to interact with one another.

The upcoming edition of the festival will be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic on September 19-25, 2020.
